Q: Whats the age requirement to start riding?

A: We do not necessarily have an age requirement as long as the student can follow  direction and have enough balance to hold themselves in the saddle. We do have children start as early as 2 years old but the curriculum is different from that of children who are older. We have students who range from 2 to 60+, so please call for more information so that we can find a program that works for you!

Q: What type of clothing should I wear to my first lesson?

A: Long pants or leggings - stretchy comfortable pants that won't restrict your motion

Shoes with a heel-No tennis shoes

No jewlry or baggy clothes

All hair must be tied up and out of way of eyes

We supply helmets-No bicycle helmets please!

Q:How long should I plan to be at the barn when I have my lesson?

A: All first time lesson takers need to arrive 1 hour before mounted lesson time to take a barn tour, find a properly fitted helmet, complete our liability release forms, and learn to tack.

Please plan to be at the barn for at least 2 hours for a first lesson

For subsequent lessons, please allow 15-30 minutes prior to your mounted lesson time to allow time for tacking up your horse*

(*If you’d like for us to tack/untack your horse for you please let us know in advance and a $15 fee will be charged per time)

"Un-tacking" time after a lesson is not considered part of the time you "pay" for, but it is considered the rider's responsibility. Therefore, please allow up 1 1/2 to 2 hours for your total time at the stable unless prior arrangements are made.
